6 Steps to Book an Epic Grand Canyon Rafting Tour with Hatch Today (December 16th 2025), our 2027 Calendar officially opens...

If you’ve dreamed of traveling down the Colorado River through Grand Canyon, but you always pictured doing it with only your closest friends and family, you’re in luck! You can book a private charter trip with Hatch River Expeditions and make your dreams come true.
(We should be clear that this is not the same as obtaining a private permit to run your own DIY trip through the canyon. Instead, you’d get everything Hatch offers, just without worrying about who your traveling companions might end up being.)
You get all the amenities of a traditional booking, with a little extra:
Anyone with enough people is welcome to talk to us about booking a private Grand Canyon trip, but we find there are particular kinds of groups for whom charters are particularly well-suited:
Call our office! You can learn a lot about our trip types and the basics of private charters on our website, but when it comes to arranging the details, you’ll need to talk to our charter specialist. They can work with you to create custom terms for payment and registration. Then you just have to sign up your guests!
UPDATE: You can now view dates that are available to charter on our website! View available 7 Day Motorized charter dates. View charter dates for other trip styles.
We’ve been working with charter groups for decades (in fact, our very first trip was a charter!), so we have a pretty good idea what works and what doesn’t.
Maybe you don’t really want to organize a whole big group, or you aren’t sure you have quite enough interested people to take over a whole trip. No problem!
We are happy to accommodate any size group up to 29. You just may be traveling with a few other general booking guests. As an added bonus, even if you aren’t a charter group, you still qualify for a free group leader space if you book 16 or more guests.
